It’s important to understand the terrain you’ll be navigating through while changing careers. What is the state of the economy right now? What traits and abilities will be highly valued? In the end, how does the current state of the workplace appear, and what opportunities and challenges does that present?
An unprecedented number of employees have left their employment on their own accord. This trend is being referred to as a long professional opportunity where workers are in control. Companies must work harder to get your attention since there are supposedly more job opportunities than there are applicants to fill them. Jobseekers can be pickier about where they want to work, and employers who are not viewed as attractive will lose out against those who are.
Even though updating your resume and applying for jobs are crucial stages in beginning a new profession, I’m not here to advise you to do them. Instead, I’ll concentrate on the measures you can do to make yourself a strong candidate in your new profession and find a job you’ll enjoy.
- Identify your strengths and potential areas for development
We all too frequently concentrate on our flaws. Speaking of our strengths might really be a little uncomfortable for many of us. You don’t need to discuss them right now, but you do need to recognise them and make an inventory of them! You should also recognise and utilise your capacity to acquire new skills. Reflecting on new abilities you’d like to learn, and prospective development areas are the main goal of this stage.
